Mir 1 on Canon 5D Mk2
The marriage between Jupiter 11 and 5D is a happy one. I’ve been beyond pleased with the sharpness and the feel of this lens. Here is Mir 1 37mm f2.8. A pretty nifty lens by itself with pretty unusual but useful aperture control. Sadly however, focusing beyond anything greater than 8 yards is hopeless. I don’t know if my M39 to EF adapter is too thick, or is it simply that the shorter lenses don’t adapt as well. It’s all good fun anyway.

Got this simple tele lens for $44 from Ukraine.
This lens came in two varieties. This being the shorter with a thicker barrel and a very nice purple coating on the lens, resulting in super nice warm orange colored pictures. The other being a longer thinner barrel with a yellowish tint. The other well-known line of the manufacturers’ lens (produced by KMZ factory in Krasnogorskare) were the: Industar, Orion, Helios, Mercury,…. etc. (as opposed to this Jupiter) range.
Really nice pictures for the money.
This lens was made in 1950’s USSR from the technology that was acquired from Germany after the war.
Pretty remarkable of its era.

Coupling with Analogue RF
This Jupiter 11 has no RF CAM
Jupiter 11 has no sloped coupling lens camshaft inside. The lack of this lens Cam means, it will all be fine on a paired digital camera, but when mounted on an analogue RF that relies on coupling with the camera’s mount ring, like Leica M’s, in addition to the parallax inaccuracies, focusing will have to be purely by judgment and/or scales on the lens. Similar to the Rollei 35 concept.
